I'm up to 90 days now on my 365 photo project, and I haven't missed a day! I've had to get creative on cold, rainy, or dreary days, and I've further stretched my repertoire. It's still fun!

Earth Hour 2010
Saturday night was Earth Hour, when millions of people around the globe turned off their lights for an hour at 8:30 p.m. local time to draw attention to climate change, and what we can do to be less wasteful. I think it's wonderful, and I wish it would happen more than once a year. Of course, the point is to remind us that we should always be aware of our impact on the environment, and how much less energy we could be using.
It was nice to have an hour with no distractions: no TV, no computer, no gadgets humming and beeping. There's something primal and romantic about candlelight, and it was relaxing to sit in the soft light and write with a pen and paper instead of a keyboard and glowing monitor.

premiere
This is the first crocus I've found this year. It's at Grandmothers' Garden in Westfield. Spring will soon be here!
