I haven't been to Hartford very much, despite the fact that it's close by, so I wandered around on Saturday taking pictures of other things besides the music festival. It's quite a photogenic city!

Pipes in the Valley

I went down to Hartford yesterday for the Pipes in the Valley festival, a celebration of Celtic music and culture.















There was lots of great music, food, drink, and fun, and it was a gorgeous day for it.

Autumn has begun to touch the trees with strokes of red, orange, and yellow from its palette of brilliant color.

Japanese maple seeds get ready to wing their way to the ground at Stanley Park. I love to watch them helicopter around when the wind blows.

I took a walk to a different part of town yesterday, out East Main Street (Route 20, heading toward West Springfield). I came across this historic marker at the corner of Little River Road, next to the bridge. In all the hundreds of times I've driven by there, I've never noticed it before, which is why I like to walk to new places.
