Mardi Gras
I found a new type of rose growing in the garden at Stanley Park, and it's a pretty one! I like the unusual color and the shape of the petals. Called "Mardi Gras," it is definitely a festive flower.

belladonna
Ruby red berries look very inviting, but it's not called Deadly Nightshade for nothing! Early colonists were afraid to eat tomatoes because they're related to this poisonous plant.

canopy
I took a nice, long walk in the woods yesterday at the wildlife sanctuary at Stanley Park. Once I got away from the talkative people with the baying dogs, I enjoyed the peace of the woods, listening to the birds and the trees and the babbling water of the Little River. I found a few signs of impending Autumn, sprang a few touch-me-not seeds, caught a turtle sunning itself on a log, and generally recharged my batteries. It's a great place for that.

Steppin' Out
I've been taking pictures of my feet as I wander around. It occurred to me while looking at whatever picture I'd just taken, when the camera went back to live view I'd see my feet, and that's the view I've seen most often. It's a little travelogue of the places I like to go walking. Most of these were taken in Stanley Park and the wildlife sanctuary next door.

hidden
While the geese and ducks shilled shamelessly for snacks from visitors, this swan held back demurely behind the grasses, perhaps finding the others crass.
