There's a lot of great architecture on Court Street. Above and below, the Westfield Woman's Club building with its grand columns and sober brick.
Below, the Westfield Municipal building, where the town offices are:
The Church of the Atonement is lovely, with its stone facade and red door:
I love the purple door and silk wisteria at the flower shop:
I love walking around Westfield. It's really a neat old city.

More from Grandmothers' Garden
I took a walk over to Grandmothers' Garden yesterday evening, and this time I thought to take some wider shots of the flower beds instead of just closeups.
Of course, you know I had to get some closeups, too!
This patch of black-eyed susans keeps coming out with a blue background when I take a picture late in the day. It's quite curious!
This is one I took in the same spot last summer:
I think there may be a vortex or something there. ;)

Back from my family reunion in upstate New York - here is a hummingbird moth that I found in my aunt's garden. I've never seen one before! They move quite quickly; I was lucky to get a shot of it.

moonrise
I'm back from vacation, refreshed and suffering from blog withdrawal. I had a fabulous time, and even managed to take a few nice photos.

Here is that same flower that I posted last week, more open this time. It has pretty little florets! The whole flower spike is about 5" long, and the plant is maybe a foot high. Does anyone know what it's called? The bees sure like it!

I really like the contrast between the stone wall and the ferns here. Taken at Stanley Park, Westfield, MA on July 6, 2008.
I'm going on vacation next week to the wilds of western NY; hopefully I'll be able to get some good pictures while I'm there. Have a wonderful week, everyone!
