I entered this pic in a contest in a Flickr group; the theme is "Still Life." I really like the mix of color and texture. It's the appetizer spread at my brother's wedding reception last summer. Taken on June 29, 2007 in Glendale, MD

Why it's called "Whip City"
Westfield, MA, gets its nickname, "Whip City," from the thriving buggy whip manufacturing business here over a century ago. The former factory is now a storefront, but they've kept the old sign on the front of the big old brick building on Elm Street, near the bridge. Taken on March 2, 2008
