When I took pictures of the flowers on this crabapple tree last week, the blossoms were a deep rose color, as they have been for the seven years I've lived nearby. But on Sunday, it was mysteriously pale pink instead. How odd!
A few of the flowers were still that deeper pink, surrounded by paler siblings.
It's almost as if the rain washed away some of the pigment.
It's still pretty, but strange!

Hmmm. Very strange indeed. Have you noticed whether it's a banner year for lilacs which seems to be the case in my neighborhood?
The lilacs are just coming out here, but yeah, they seem to be quite vigorous!
