I took a walk down Mechanic Street yesterday, and came across these wild grapes along the sidewalk.
At the corner of Mechanic and Main Streets, I saw this dilapidated sign:
I saw a lot of empty storefronts, and it made me sad. This is a great old city, and I'd love to see it revitalized. Maybe high gas prices will give people an incentive to shop locally. Wouldn't that be a good thing?
Both photos taken in Westfield, MA on July 4, 2008

It is a shame how many empty storefronts there are in Westfield.
Great photos, as usual!
